Ember Legion Charter

History:

Ember Legion was created by three gamers that have a passion both for gaming and the community that can blossom around a group of gamers when they come together.  All three came from a community that was successful and relatively well know in the mmo gaming seen.  They all held high positions within that community and other communities that they have been in before.  But as like many times before they found some of the leadership around them to constrict their ability to lead in one way or another.  Knowing that they had the knowledge and the ability to create something greater than anything they have been in before, they struck out on their own.  The direction was simple even if the choice to do so was not so simple.  Creating a gaming community that encompses all the aspects that make gaming and community feel like more than just hitting start… and now it begins and only you can help us right the next chapter in our history.

Goals and directions

Ember Legion is a guild designed for players that wish to compete at the highest level possible in all games while still recognizing that it is a game.  We will strive to be the best in any game that we partake in, while continuing to be approachable and friendly to all players.  We will work hard and always endeavor to be the best but we understand that games are not worth playing unless they are fun.  We will seize the opportunity to grow into any new game that our members wish to pursue giving them the tools and resources along with the knowledge to make it possible.  Everyone is welcome at Ember Legion, but we expect that everyone will put their all into whatever game(s) they choose to play.  We at Ember Legion want to be known as a dominant, helpful, and knowledgeable community throughout the entire gaming world.  We wish to be recognized for the achievements that we have accomplished and we will always strive be better.

18+ community

This is a adult community for mature adults engaging in adult conversations.  Conversations that take place inside the community are understood to be taking place with adults.  Conversations and Activities that take place in this community can include any subject that is legal for a 18+ person to participate in.  Words and context are limited only by the consideration of the members present for the conversation or activity.  This means that any language or words are allowed as long as they are not specifically offending a member.   If a member has a personal issue with a word and they ask you to not use it you are expected to respect their opinion.  It is also the responsibility of the members that are offended to tell those using them to please stop and if they feel uneasy doing so at the time ask  an officer to do so.  Trolling is something all gamers do at one point or another and is acceptable in the community among friends, however simply trolling to get under the skin of other members will not be accepted and may be a bannable offense.

Activity

All players will be held to whatever activity limits each GM puts on their members for in game activity.  Not staying active within the GM’s parameters may get you removed from the specific games guild.  Community activity will be determined on a yearly basis.  If you are inactive on the forums for more than a year you will be removed from the forums and no longer considered a member of the community.

Teamspeak Etiquette/Rules

Respect your fellow members.  If you know that something is bothering them don’t push their buttons and try and cause issues.  If they ask you not to speak about a specific thing or say as specific word please stop or go to a separate channel to finish the conversation.

NO TROLLING.   This means no trolling for the sole reason to annoy people in teamspeak.  This is a bannable offense and may get you removed from teamspeak for a short or permanent period of time.

Raid channels are for raiding.  Please do not jump into random raid channels if you do not know what they are doing and start asking everyone whats up.  Be polite and ask in a pm/tell on ts  or in game what they are doing and if you can join.  At the same time do not sit in riad channels when you are not raiding.  There are more than enough channels for people to hang out in and talk please use them for socializing and not the raid channels.

Please use your ingame name for the current game that you are playing as you user id so that others playing with you can easily see who they are talking to.  If you wish to have another name as your handle then please put your ingame name after that.

Be respectful to those in the channel.  Don’t talk over them while they are talking.

Background noise:  We know that some have noise that they can not be prevented, if this is the case then use push to talk.  If you are not using push to talk then have a quiet background, no loud music going or animals going crazy.

Tags on teamspeak.  Any person that wishes to use TS on a regular basis should sign up and join the community.  Guest tags are for those coming and joining for one specific reason or another and then don’t plan on coming back.  Guest tags will not be permanent and anyone found giving tags other than guest to non members may be banned for up to a week in TS.  Those that refuse to join and keep trying to use TS on a regular basis will be IP banned from TS

Website and Forum Policy

The website and forums are a tool for our members to use to accomplish greater tasks than they could have without them.  You must log onto the site a minimum of once a year to keep your membership active, however we encourage you to utilize them far more frequently than that.  We have taken the time to build them to help the community grow, but it falls to you the member to use them.

Common courtesy will apply on the forums in much the same way that it does for TS.   Please post things in the sections that they are supposed to be and not start random topics in specific game forums.  Remember that anything you put in the forums is there and will stay, think of this before you post.  If you are harassing other members or trying to cause issues for the sake of trolling you may be kicked.  Consider the words you use on the forums even more than you would in TS.  In TS only those around the conversation will hear the words, on the forums all will be able to read them.  We are adults with adult conversations and this is allowed on the forums, just make sure they are in the right place and think about your fellow members before you post.

Future leadership positions inside of the community including GM’s positions for new games will be partially decided upon the member’s use of the forums.  Leaders inside of the community must lead in all areas of the community not just in a game or in Teamspeak.  That said, random bumps not helpful to threads simply to get post numbers or activity up will be frowned upon and if continued may lead to a kick from the forums and or the community

All leadership positions will have a application on the forums for members to apply.  Not all applications will be accepted.  The list of leadership positions is may be added to or subtracted depending upon the needs of the community.  All CO positions will be determined by the CL.  All GL positions will be determined by the CL with the input of the CO in the community All GO positions will be determined  by the GL in charge of the game the member is applying for.  Members in Leadership roles within the community will be held to a higher standard inside the community and the game that they play.   They will be expected to represent the community while in there position.  Any leadership role may be lost if CL finds major fault in an activity that makes the community look bad or hinders the development of the community.  Any minor leadership role below a GO will be decided by the GL in the game they are playing.
